An 1875 chart of the approaches to Chesapeake Bay, Delaware Bay, and New York from the US Coast & Geodetic Survey. The main sheet covers the Atlantic coast from New York down past the Virginia capes to the Carolina sounds, with soundings marked in fathoms across the offshore waters. Three large insets show the entrance to Chesapeake Bay, the entrance to Delaware Bay with the Delaware Breakwater, and the New York Entrance with Sandy Hook and the Narrows. The sheet also carries tables of lighthouses, tides, buoys, and life-saving stations along the coast. Charts like this were issued for vessels working the busiest stretch of the American seaboard. Unearthed from the NOAA archives and restored by Coast & Horizon's cartographers, meticulously color-corrected. Printed on museum-quality matte paper, 250 gsm archival stock, and available in 18x24, 24x32, and 28x40, with natural wood, black, or white frames.
