A 1900 chart of the Hudson and East Rivers from the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey, covering the water from West 67th Street down around the Battery and up to Blackwells Island. Lower Manhattan sits at the center of the sheet, with the piers of the Jersey City and Hoboken waterfront on one side and Brooklyn on the other. Soundings are marked across both rivers, and the sheet includes Governors Island, several compass roses, and tables for tides and currents near the margin. At the time, New York was the busiest port in the country, and charts like this were made for the pilots and masters working its waters. Unearthed from the NOAA archives and restored by Coast & Horizon's cartographers, meticulously color-corrected. Printed on museum-quality matte paper, 250 gsm archival stock.
