Southern Coast of Long Island From Montaukpoint to East Hampton INDIGO
An 1877 chart of the southern coast of Long Island, from Montauk Point to East Hampton, from the US Coast & Geodetic Survey. It covers Napeague Bay and the length of the peninsula, with the lighthouse marked at Montauk Point, tide rips noted offshore, and thousands of soundings in fathoms across the sheet. The margins carry the handwritten notes and signatures of the survey staff who checked the plate before printing, dated March 1878. Charts like this were made for pilots and coasting vessels working the approaches to the eastern end of Long Island. Unearthed from the NOAA archives and restored by Coast & Horizon's cartographers, meticulously color-corrected, this edition is rendered in deep indigo. Printed on museum-quality matte paper — 250 gsm archival stock. Comes in 18x24, 24x36, 28x40, and A0 (33.1x46.8"), print only — no framed option.
